Preaching
The public declaration of the Word of God is the central ministry of Gospel Light Baptist Church. As the below Scriptures teach, preaching is the main method for the manifesting of God’s word and maturing of the saints. On Sundays at 10am we have our Family Worship Service, the centrepiece of which is the preaching of Jesus Christ and the eternal Word of God.
“[God] hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;” Titus 1:3
“Christ in you, the hope of glory: whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:” Colossian 1:27-28
“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ” Romans 16:25
Bible Study
There is benefit in being led through a study of the Word of God in a group setting which is less formal and more interactive. We seek the truth in the very words of Scripture, guided by the Holy Spirit, our teacher. After our Family Worship Service, we hold a church-wide Bible Study on Sundays at 11:30am.
“And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.” Acts 18:26
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
Sunday School
Children have a special place in the heart of God. We desire to pass on to the children a living relationship with their Creator by bringing them to personal salvation, showing them the glory of God, and grounding them in the Scriptures. During our Bible Study on Sundays, we hold a Sunday School for primary-aged children.
“that the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: 7 that they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:” Psalm 78:6-7
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 4
Gospel Outreach
We believe in the Great Commission, being one of the last commandments given by Jesus Christ during his earthly ministry. This ministry includes the distribution of gospel literature and preaching in public areas in Goulburn and surrounds. On a monthly basis, we take a Saturday morning to go with the gospel and “put feet on our prayers”.
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20
Bright Lights Kids Club
As a church we seek to minister to children through a regular kids club, held on Wednesdays during the school term at 4pm-5:30pm. With a desire to see young hearts be won for Christ, we share the gospel, teach Bible lessons, sing gospel songs, play games and more. All are welcome.
“and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

Little Blessings Playgroup
There is a great need to serve the young families of our community with the gospel and love in action. To help meet this need, we hold a playgroup for parents’ and their little ones (preschool age) on Fridays during school term at 10am-11:30am. The ministry includes a Bible lesson, gospel songs, socialisation, various play stations and opportunity to make new friends. Please contact Audrey on 0411 561 928 for more information.

Preaching Christ Conference
To further add to the preaching ministry of Gospel Light Baptist Church, we host an annual conference with the express purpose of preaching Jesus Christ and his unsearchable riches. Preachers include guest pastors and evangelists. Whilst the New Testament testifies throughout to the supremacy of Christ, the following verse encapsulates the desired thrust of preaching Jesus Christ, not only to the lost, but also to God’s people:

All are welcome to attend and be blessed as our Saviour is magnified before us.
